Sunday’s Child 9 is blending elements of ambient, experimental, and psychedelic folk into a genre-defying exploration of sound. Drawing from a broad range of influences, Sunday’s Child 9 ventures into uncharted creative territory, focusing on self-production and experimental approaches. With piano, synthesizer, guitar and experimental percussions as her main instruments, Nicole also incorporates field recordings—capturing sounds from her environment—to create immersive soundscapes that invite listeners into a deeply personal and exploratory musical universe. Entirely self-produced in her home studio, the album reflects a shift from Berlin’s restless energy to the quiet of a small town in the south-western part of Germany — a place surrounded by forests and mountains, where Nicole reconnected with her roots. In this solitude, she dove deeper into her creative process, questioning industry norms and rediscovering what authenticity in sound can mean.
